New wine 🍷- out with the old, in with the new.
So I journaled yesterday about times and seasons and how some things that used to serve me in one season might not necessarily serve me in another.
And it’s fine to let go of them,
Actually, it’s time to let go.
They have no purpose for me now and that’s okay.
It could be a habit, it could be a routine, even a devotional style , a song etc. (these things don’t even necessarily need to be bad things at all)
But yeah..
I realized that I have been experiencing difficulty with something and that’s because I was holding on to something that I thought was my answer but actually it was just an answer in one season and surprisingly , it’s not an answer in this season.
It kinda sucks cause I didn’t realize early enough 😅.
But I’m glad God called me out.
Like I said before, it’s okay to let go and move in the direction the Lord is leading you and you shall experience ease. 🥹🫶🏽
fast forward to this morning, during a devotional platform I join called Triumph 30, they sang ‘new wine’ by Hillsong but I listened to the version by maverick city.
It all just made more sense.
God is so intentional and I love how He speaks to me through music.
This song embodies everything I couldn’t even pen down.
“I lay down my own flame to carry your new fire today”
🥹🔥
Woahhhhh. Light bulb moment
Tbh, the song might not even relate to my situation 😅. It Could mean different things for different people.
“Where there is new wine there is new power”
There is a time and season for everything.
Even for the good things.
What is that flame you need to lay down to carry God’s new fire today ?🥹
And no one puts new wine into old wineskins. For the new wine would burst the wineskins, spilling the wine and ruining the skins. New wine must be stored in new wineskins. But no one who drinks the old wine seems to want the new wine. ‘The old is just fine,’ they say.””
Luke 5:37-39 NLT

Well said Mabel! A lot of times, God pulls us away from certain things that can be a hindrance in our walk with Him. As our relationship grows stronger, the more He reveals to us.
